Broad-spectrum antifungal for dogs, cats and rabbits

Ketoconazole (active ingredient in Ketomycol 100) belongs to the group of imidazoles that has antibacterial, antifungal, antiprotozoal and anthelmintic activity. While its most remarkable is its antimycotic activity altering the permeability of the cell membrane of yeast and fungi susceptible, blocking ergosterol synthesis (the primary cell sterol fungi), deterioration of other enzyme systems with an overall effect of a disorder of cell membrane with cell death.
Imidazoles sensitivity varies greatly among various strains of yeast and fungi, but natural or acquired resistance is not common.
Ketoconazole is the most active of the imidazoles antimycotics.

Ketoconazole ………………………………… 100.0 mg
Excipients qs ………………………………… 250.0 mg

Indications / Uses:
Ringworm, mucocutaneous candidiasis, coccidioidomycosis blastomycosis, histoplasmosis, systemic cryptococcosis and aspergillosis .
Susceptible organisms: Blastomyces dermatitidis, Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, Histoplasma capasulatum, Candida species, imitis Coccidioides, Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus fumigatus.

Administration and dosage:
Oral administration.
In dogs 5 to 20 mg/kg every 12 hours until remission of symptoms.
In cats and fur animals dose administration is subject to the recommendation of the attending veterinarian.

Contraindications / Precautions:
Do not administer simultaneously with anticholinergic agents. Ketoconazole absorption is inhibited by concomitant administration with cimetidine, ranitidine and anticholinergic agents.
Avoid use in animals with liver damage.

Presentation:
Box with blister containing 20 tablets.

Keep between 5 ° C. and 35 degrees c.
Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
