Ketamin Injectable

General anesthetic for dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep.

Formula | Every ml contains:
Ketamine basis (hydrochloride) ………….. 50.0 mg

Indications / Uses:
General anesthetic that keeps swallowing reflexes and free upper airways. No fetal or uterine toxicity. Of choice for caesarean sections and for animals in shock.
It can be used in combination with other anesthetics.

Administration and dosage:
Administered intravenously produce general anesthesia within 60 seconds and lasts 5 to 10 minutes.
Canines and Felines: 7.0 to 10.0 mg per kg.
Swine: 5.0 mg per kg.
Cattle: 5.0 mg per kg.
Ovine: 3.0 mg per kg.
Equines: 3.0 to 5.0 mg per kg.
Primates: 1.0 to 5.0 mg per kg.

Intramuscularly lasts 30 minutes. During anesthesia can be increased muscle tone and hyperflexia.
Canines and Felines: 15.0 to 25.0 mg per kg.
Swine: 15.0 to 20.0 mg per kg.
Bovine: 15.0 mg per kg.
Ovine: 10.0 to 20.0 mg per kg.
Equines: 15.0 mg per kg.
Primates: 5.0 to 15.0 mg per kg.
Birds: 10.0 to 20.0 mg per kg.

Contraindications / Precautions:
When overdose occurs there may be respiratory depression, treatment is mechanical ventilation instead of using analeptic agents.
Do not use in patients with heart failure or a history of stroke. Ketamine rarely produces laryngeal spasm, produces hypertension and tachycardia lasting 30 to 60 minutes.

Presentation:
Vial containing 50.0 ml.

Keep between 5 ° C and 35 ° C.
Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
Controlled drug.
