Canine tranquilizer
Acepet 10 (Acetylpromazine Maleate) is a phenothiazine derived with a greater potency than chlorpromazine and promazine.
It is a major tranquilizer (neuroleptic) whose main action is to alter the patient’s temperament decreasing its response to environmental stimuli.
It is a selective CNS depressant, depresses the limbic system by disrupting connections between it and the reticular system, which produces a state of stillness with decreased anxiety, excitement and aggression, thereby facilitating the animal’s handling, transportation and adaptation to new environments. While it decreases the spontaneous motor activity, when used in small and medium doses it induces sleep so there is no loss of consciousness. Acepet 10increases the activity of analgesics, sedatives and anesthetics.
Formula | Each tablet contains:
Acetylpromazine maleate …………………………… 10.0 mg

Acepet 10 is indicated to calm excited or aggressive animals which facilitates handling them in different interventions for both diagnostic purposes (complementary methods) as therapeutics (treatment of wounds, drainage of abscesses, ear cleaning, etc.). When administered as preanesthetic it facilitates the administration of anesthetic and reduces the dose required to produce surgical anesthesia or increases the duration of analgesic effect.

Oral administration.
CANINE: small to medium animals: 1 tablet per 10 kg. Large animals: 1 tablet per 15 kg.
